The UTStarcom is a phone which is liked by the editors of the cell review site as they have given their verdict of the phone as very good. But in the case of the users they are not much in favour of the phone and have given it a mediocre rating.

This phone has a design of a candy bar but is basically a thin one. It is comfortable to grip because it has smooth edges and curved corners. The backlight of the screen can be adjusted but brightness as well as the font size cannot be adjusted.
The screen display is 1.75 inches, diagonally. The keypad is well designed and the keys are a bit raised from the surface hence making dialing and typing much easier. The phone has everything needed for a basic phone. The phone has a VGA camera which can take pictures in four resolutions.

There are other settings which can be done in the camera. 10 fun frames, three shutter sounds, three quality settings, a self timer, six image effects and a mirror effect. The picture quality of the phone is quite bad, images were blurred and overcast. It also has an inbuilt Bluetooth. The contact list can enter up to 500 numbers. Each contact can be supported by five other numbers, an email address, web address, notes, memo and IM username.

There are a total 12 polyphonic ring tones. Groups can be formed in the contact list and they can be paired with a ring tone as well as a photo for caller ID purpose. Other important features are, text, picture and instant messaging, wireless web browser, memory manager, voice recorder, voice command, calculator, calendar and so on. The set also comes with three games.

It is an affordable phone. It is quite slim. The battery can support 4.5 hours of talk time. The call quality is quite impressive and the picture quality is very poor and the display lacks luster.
